Meera is a Partner with an experience of over 16 years in the areas of civil, criminal and matrimonial matters. She regularly advises and represents clients (including private and public corporates) in high stake contentious and litigation matters before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, state High Courts and district courts. She has successfully represented clients on bail, trial and appeals in relation to criminal matters.

She has expertise in investigation matters, including cybercrimes, white collar crime, fraud and anti-bribery related cases. She has been a legal consultant to Delhi Police and has advised criminal / prosecution agencies.

 

She regularly advises and represents clients (including high net worth individuals and media personalities) on family and matrimonial matters, including legal separation, alimony and maintenance, domestic abuse, and child custody.

 

Meera has been appointed as the external and independent legal expert on the Internal Compliant Committee of various organization and regularly advises corporate clients on sexual harassment related matters.

She is actively involved in various pro bono social and economic development projects, including being the Honorary Legal Head for a Non-Government Organisation (Society Against Violence in Education) which is an initiative to voice against ragging and harassment in educational institutions. She is also empanelled with Delhi High Court Middle Income Group, Delhi High Court Legal Services Committee and Delhi State Legal Service Authority and has been recognised for rendering legal support to various the downtrodden and marginalised sections of the society.

 

Prior to Rise Legal, she was engaged in independent practice in Delhi and previously has also worked with Agha & Co., a litigation firm in Dubai.

 

She has been featured as an expert on criminal investigative and family law matters in many TV interviews. She regularly authors articles published in reputed journals and publications.  Some of her recent and prominent articles include, “Gender Identity, Interpersonal Relationships of LGBTQI and Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019: A Comparative Study”, published in Comparative Law: Thomson Reuters, 2022; “From Workplace to Cyber Workspace: Practical Challenges under Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013”, published by Live law; and “Understanding, Preventing and Redressing Sexual Harassment at the Workplace” published by Lawyered.
